Thomas Armond Sprague

Thomas Armond Sprague, 70, of Hazen, PA, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 2, 2020, at Penn Highlands DuBois Hospital, with his family by his side.

Thomas was born on August 3, 1949, in Erie PA, to the late Harold A. and Helen (Smith) Sprague.

He was raised in New Brighton, PA.

He attended the New Brighton High School with the class of 1967.

Thomas proudly served as a Private First Class in the United States Army for three years, some of that time was spent serving active duty in Vietnam and Germany during the Vietnam War.

He was a steel mill worker as well as a carpenter.

Thomas lived in Hazen, PA with his lifelong partner, Mary Cordwell; she survives him.

Thomas enjoyed spending time with his family and grandchildren.

He loved fishing and sitting on his porch watching his grandchildren play.

He also loved their shih tzu, Daisy.

In addition to Mary Cordwell, Thomas is survived by three daughters, Kimberlee Cordwell, Charles Wensel; Tracie (Jerry) Nighswander and Wanda Thompson; one son, Tom (Jen) Cordwell; six grandchildren, Dakota “Buckwheat” Cordwell, Logan “Logy” Wensel, Cory Nighswander, Austin Thompson, Tyler Thompson, and Morgan Cordwell; three great-grandchildren, Dominic Cornman, Johnathan Nighswander, and Isabella Nighswander; four siblings, Linda (John) Dixon, Daniel (Debbie) Sprague, Thomas (Palma) Buchanan, Emma Batchik; and one nephew, John Dixon Jr.

In addition to his parents, Thomas is preceded in death by his grandson, Joshua Nighswander, and several aunts and uncles.

Thomas will be laid to rest at the Temple Cemetery in Hazen, Jefferson County, PA.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Snyder – d’Argy Funeral Home, 206 E. Main Street, Reynoldsville, PA 15851.
