Thomas V. Poulos

Thomas V. Poulos, age 83, of DuBois, PA, died Monday, May 10, 2021, at Penn Highlands DuBois Hospital.

Born on January 3, 1938, in Kalamata, Greece, he was the son of the late Vasilios & Evgenia Poulos.

On February 17, 1963, he married his wife, Panagiota “Pota” Poulos. She preceded him in death on December 6, 2019.

Tom worked at McDowell Manufacturing in DuBois for 25 years. Previous to that, he was the owner/operator of the Quick Lunch on Brady Street in DuBois for many years.

He was a founding member of St. Nicholas Orthodox Church in DuBois and was a member of St. Nicholas in Altoona. He loved watching Greek television shows, volunteering at the DuBois Nursing Home, and above all, he loved to spend time with his grandchildren.

He is survived by two sons, Vasilios “Bill” Poulos and his wife Evelyn of Newark, DE and Nicholas Poulos of DuBois, PA; three grandchildren, Blair, Morgan and Panagiota “Mary” Poulos; a brother, Coatas Giannakopoulos; and a sister, Katina Giannakopoulos; both of Greece.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Nitsa Giannakopoulos.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 12, 2021, from 4PM – 7PM at the Baronick Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc. Masks are required.

A Parastas will be prayed on Wednesday afternoon at 3:15.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, May 13, 2021, at 11 AM from St. Nicholas Orthodox Church, 301 South State St., DuBois, with Father Mark Meholick as celebrant.

Burial will take place in Morningside Cemetery.
