Three Minors Sent to Hospital After Car Shears Off Utility Pole in Pine Creek Twp.

PINE CREEK TWP., Pa. (EYT) — A car partially blocking one lane on Route 322 apparently caused a traffic crash in Pine Creek Township Monday night.

According to Punxsutawney-based State Police, a vehicle driven by Maribeth Waite, 65, of Reynoldsville, was blocking the eastern lane when a vehicle driven by Christopher Allmond, of Edgewood, Md., drove off the road and hit a utility pole.

The pole sheared off with lines across both lanes, closing the road.

Waite and three juvenile passengers were taken to Penn Highlands DuBois by Jefferson County EMS for minor injuries.

Waite’s vehicle had heavy front end damage and was removed from the scene by McPherson Towing.

Police were assisted at the scene by the Pine Creek Township Volunteer Fire Department, Penelec, and Comcast.
