Three Transported to Penn Highlands Following Crash in Pine Creek Township

A moving ambulance on it''s way to a crash site.PINE CREEK TWP., Pa. (EYT) – DuBois-based State Police say a one-car accident occurred yesterday on Interstate 80 West, at mile marker 82.6, in Pine Creek Township, Jefferson County.

According to police, around 5:15 p.m. on February 27, 24-year-old Alyssa J. McGarry, of New Kensington, was traveling west on I-80 in the right lane and possibly fell asleep. Her 2003 Chevrolet Impala began traveling north off the roadway. She applied her emergency brake and then lost control of the car. It traveled onto the north berm where the front of it struck the guide rails. The car then rotated in a clockwise manner and traveled approximately 300 feet west before coming to a rest on the north berm.

Jefferson County EMS transported McGarry and two infant passengers to Brookville-Penn Highlands.

All occupants were using seat belts.

McGarry was charged with a traffic violation.

Pine Creek Volunteer Fire Department assisted at the scene.
