Trio Accused of Passing Counterfeit Bills at Punxsy Walmart Arrested in Erie

PUNXSUTAWNEY, Pa. (EYT) – Three suspects accused of passing counterfeit currency at Walmart in Punxsutawney have been apprehended.

Punxsutawney-based State Police responded to the Walmart Supercenter along State Route 119 on December 11, 2018, after receiving a report of counterfeit currency being used by three suspects who were traveling in a Honda Accord.

According to a release issued on April 19, the suspects were arrested in Erie, Pa. for similar crimes, according to police.

Their names have not been released.

The case remains under investigation.
