Two DuBois Women Seriously Injured in Route 119 Crash

Emergency units at Route 119 wreckHENDERSON TWP., Pa. (EYT) – State Police say a two-vehicle traffic accident occurred on Wednesday afternoon on State Route 119 in Henderson Township, Jefferson County.

Punxsutawney-based State Police say around 5:09 p.m. on February 8, 59-year-old Randy Mann, of Westfield, Pa., was driving a Dodge Dakota north on Route 119 when he struck a 2010 Ford Focus driven by 20-year-old Sierra Shenk, of DuBois, who was driving south and attempting to make a left turn.

The Dakota spun clockwise and came to rest facing north on Route 119.

The Focus spun in a counter clockwise direction before coming to rest facing north on Route 119.

Shenk and Mann were taken to Penn Highlands DuBois for treatment of suspected minor injuries.

Two passengers in Mann’s vehicle – 35-year-old Maria Border, of DuBois, and 59-year-old Joyce Beane, of DuBois – were also taken to the hospital for treatment of suspected serious injuries.

Two juveniles in the Dakota were not injured.

All occupants were wearing seat belts.

Shenk was charged with a traffic violation.

Both vehicles sustained disabling damage and were towed from the scene by Brosius Towing.
