Two Escape Injuries in Rollover Crash in Washington Township

state_policeWASHINGTON TOWNSHIP, Pa. (EYT) – Punxsutawney-based State Police say a one vehicle crash occurred on February 11 around 7:03 p.m. on T-542, Sandy Valley Road, in Washington Township, Jefferson County.

According to police, Melanie F. Frank, 30, of DuBois, and passenger Brandon W. Bumbarger, 29, of Reynoldsville, were traveling east in a 2003 Landrover Discovery SE7 on an ice covered roadway.

As the vehicle descended a downhill grade and negotiating a right hand curve, Frank attempted to slow down and began to slide into the oncoming lane of travel.

The Land Rover crossed the westbound lane and traveled up an embankment on the north side of the roadway.

The vehicle then rolled onto its roof and spun 180 degrees before coming to a final rest in the westbound lane of travel.

Both occupants were using seat belts and no injuries were reported.

The vehicle was towed from the scene.

Frank was charged with a traffic violation.
