Two Flown to Altoona Hospital After Motorcycle Crash in Young Twp.

State PoliceYOUNG TOWNSHIP, Pa. (EYT) – Punxsutawney-based State Police say a Punxsutawney man and woman are in critical condition following a motorcycle crash that occurred at 8:00 p.m. June 6 in Young Township, Jefferson County.

According to police, the crash occurred as 46-year-old Robert H. Lewis Jr., of Punxsutawney, was traveling south on SR-310 310 on his Harley Davidson Street Glide.

Lewis had allegedly just crested a hill when he saw a vehicle stopped on SR-310 awaiting to make a left turn onto Adrian Road.

Police say Lewis allegedly applied a hard brake causing his motorcycle to fishtail.

The motorcycle then allegedly fell onto its left side and slid along the roadway.

Lewis and his passenger 47-year-old Toni M. Lewis, of Punxsutawney, were both allegedly thrown from the motorcycle.

Both were flown by helicopter to Altoona Hospital for treatment of major injuries.

According to police, both are still listed in critical condition.

PSP Punxsutawney were assisted at the scene by Jefferson County EMS and Punxsutawney Fire Department.
