Two Local People Injured in Weather-Related Crash in Polk Township

POLK TWP., Pa. (EYT) – Police say two Brookville residents were injured in a crash caused by icy road conditions in Polk Township late last week.

According to police, around 10:03 a.m. on March 4, a one-vehicle accident occurred on Richardsville Road just west of Plotner Road.

Police say 43-year-old Michelle J. Beck, of Brookville, was operating a 2004 Ford Ranger, traveling west on Richardsville Road while approaching a left curve when the vehicle began to slide on the ice-covered roadway. The vehicle then struck an embankment on the right side of the roadway, overturned, and came to a final rest on its side facing south.

Beck and her passenger, identified as 19-year-old Zachary J. Beck, also of Brookville, were both using seat belts.

Both occupants suffered injuries of unknown severity.

Michelle Beck was transported to Penn Highlands Hospital by Brockway Area Ambulance Service, while Zachary Beck was transported to Penn Highlands Hospital by Jefferson County EMS.

Beck was cited for a speed violation.
