Two People Life-Flighted Following Route 28 Head-on Collision

ROSE TWP., Pa. (EYT) – Two people were life-flighted to UPMC Presbyterian on Saturday night following a two-vehicle crash on State Route 28, in Rose Township.

According to Punxsutawney-based State Police, a two-vehicle crash occurred around 7:42 p.m. on Saturday, October 26, approximately one mile southwest of Brookville Borough on Route 28 at its intersection with Snyder Road, in Rose Township, Jefferson County.

Police say that Unit #1 was traveling south on Route 28 and lost control and collided head on with Unit #2 which was heading north.

Each unit was only occupied by an operator.

Both operators were life-flighted to UPMC Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh.

Police say the crash involved DUI.

PSP Punxsutawney is investigating the crash.

Pine Creek Volunteer Fire Department, Jefferson County EMS, and McPherson Towing assisted at the scene.

The names of the drivers were not released.
