Two-Vehicle Crash in Young Township

car-accident-graphic-5254_jpg_475x310_q85-300x225YOUNG TWP., Pa. (EYT) – According to Punxsutawney-based State Police, around 3:45 p.m. on May 6, a two-vehicle accident occurred on Harmony Road, south of Young Road, in Young Township, Jefferson County.

Police say 37-year-old Anthony J. Dwire, of Reynoldsville, and 63-year-old Karen S. Alley, of Anita, were involved in the collision.

This crash occurred as a 2013 Kia Soul, driven by Alley, was stopped in the northern lane for a school bus in the southbound lane of Harmony Road. Dwire was traveling north negotiating a right bend in the roadway. He lost control of his 2009 Toyota Yaris and struck the right rear of the Kia, according to police.

Upon impact, the Toyota spun into the guard rail, striking it with the right rear.

Both vehicles came to a rest facing north off the eastern berm.

No injuries were reported; both drivers were using seat belts.

The Toyota sustained heavy front end damage and was towed from the scene by Southside Towing.

Dwire was charged with a traffic violation.
