Two-Vehicle Crash on Route 36

ELDRED TOWNSHIP, Pa. (EYT) – According to Marienville-based State Police, around 3:45 p.m. on January 4, a two-vehicle accident occurred on State Route 36, north of Greeley Road, in the village of Howe, in Eldred Township, Jefferson County.

Police say 61-year-old Frank P. Ruffolo, of Brookville, and a 17-year-old male, of Reynoldsville, were involved in the collision.

The teen was attempting to turn right into a private driveway in a 1997 Ford F150, towing a trailer, and Ruffolo, struck the rear of the trailer with his 2003 Hyundai Elantra.

The impact caused damage to the trailer and the rear of the pickup.

The Hyundai sustained damage to its front end and both front airbags deployed. It was towed from the scene by Bailey’s Towing.

The pickup’s trailer was also towed by Bailey’s Towing.

Ruffolo and a passenger, 58-year-old Carrie L. Ruffolo, also of Brookville, were using seat belts and were not injured.

The 17-year-old and a passenger, 18-year-old Angelia R. Joyner, also of Reynoldsville, were also using seat belts and were not injured.

Ruffolo was charged with a traffic violation.
