Two-Vehicle Crash on Route 949

HEATH TOWNSHIP, Pa. (EYT) – Marienville-based State Police say a two-vehicle accident occurred on State Route 949, at its intersection with Shaffer Road, in Heath Township, Jefferson County.

According to police, 22-year-old Eddie A. Antonuccio, of Ridgway, and 37-year-old Mickey P. Truman, of Brookville, were involved in the collision.

Police say Antonuccio traveling in a 1999 GMC Jimmy was stopped at a stop sign along Shaffer Road at its intersection with SR 949 and did not observe a 2011 Subaru Legacy, driven by Truman, traveling west towards the intersection.

Antonuccio moved his GMC Jimmy onto SR 949 directly into the path of the Subaru, according to police.

Truman was unable to avoid the impact, and the Subaru struck the 9 o’clock position of the GMC Jimmy.

Antonuccio was using a seat belt and was not injured.

Three passengers in Antonuccio – 21-year-old Savannah D. Boss, of Ridgeway, and a 2-year-old female and a 4-year-old female – were using seat belts/child safety seats and were not injured.

Truman and a 2-year-old male passenger were using seat belts/child safety seat and were not injured.

The GMC Jimmy sustained moderate, but functional damage and was driven from the scene.

The Subaru sustained disabling damage and was towed from the scene by East Main Street Service.

Charges shall be filed against Antonuccio with Judge Gregory Bazylak of District Court 54-3-03 associated with summary traffic violations.
