BELL TOWNSHIP, Pa. (EYT)– Punxsutawney-based State Police say DUI charges are pending against a 23-year-old man involved in a two-vehicle crash that occurred on Clawson Street, in Bell Township, Jefferson County.
According to police, Dennis C. Oley, of Punxsutawney, has been arrested for alleged DUI.
Charges are pending at Magisterial District Court 54-3-01.
The accident occurred as Oley was traveling north on Clawson Street in a 2006 Chevrolet when he failed to remain on the right side of the roadway around 7:25 p.m. on August 18.
Oley allegedly struck a 2003 Honda Odyssey driven by Lisa Fetterman, 35, of Punxsutawney, who was traveling south.
Police say Oley side-swiped Fetterman’s vehicle and came to a final rest facing east, while Fetterman’s vehicle came to a final rest facing south.
Both Oley and Fetterman were using seat belts and suffered minor injuries.
Fetterman’s two passengers, a 10-year-old female and an 8-year-old female, were both also wearing seat belts and were uninjured in the crash.
Oley was initially cited with a Careless Driving violation.
State police were assisted at the scene by the Punxsutawney Fire Department and Jefferson County EMS.
