Velma J. Getch, 86, of Anita, died Saturday, April 17, 2021, at Mulberry Square in Punxsutawney.
She was born November 1, 1934, in Punxsutawney, a daughter of the late Harriet M. (Jacobson) and Joseph N. Getch.
Velma attended the Assembly of God Church in Anita and enjoyed knitting, crocheting, puzzle books, and reading her bible.
She worked as a tester at Rola-Jensen for many years.
Velma is survived by six siblings, Diana Startzell and husband Bill of Big Run, Carolyn Meckley and husband Mike of Mahaffey, Robert “Jake” Getch and wife Deborah of Anita, David Getch and wife Sandy of Cranberry Township, Greg Getch of Anita, and Rev. Lloyd Getch and wife Marlene of Anita; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by five siblings, Joseph A. “Bud” Getch, James Getch, John “Sonny” Getch, Donna Snyder and Barbara Anthony.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m., Tuesday, April 20, 2021, at the Deeley Funeral Home in Punxsutawney with her brother Rev. Lloyd E. Getch officiating.
Interment will be in Lakelawn Memorial Park, Reynoldsville.
