Veterans Awareness Seminar to Be Held Today in Brookville

military-suicidesBROOKVILLE, Pa. (EYT) — A Jefferson County Veterans Awareness Seminar will be held from noon to 4:00 p.m. on September 14 at Jefferson Place on Main Street in Brookville.

For military veterans and their spouses that may not know all the benefits they are eligible for through the Veterans Administration, the seminar will explain them, including medical coverage, compensation, dependency indemnity compensation, pension, death pension, burial, and headstone.

For those that sustained an injury while on active duty, served in Vietnam and were exposed to Agent Orange, they could be eligible for a monetary benefit for those conditions.

Also, for those who need wheelchair ramps and other, needed items, the seminar will address them.

Veterans are asked to bring their discharge papers with them in order to apply for benefits.
