Victorian Christmas Celebration Kicks Off Friday Night in Brookville

BROOKVILLE, Pa. (EYT) – Brookville’s Victorian Christmas Celebration kicks off on Friday, December 1.

A live Nativity will kick off the celebration on Friday night, and house tours featuring Victorian homes on Jefferson Street will end the festivities on Sunday afternoon.

There will also be tickets available for the Ghosts, Myths & Legends Tour; a mommy and me Victorian tea; breakfast with Santa; a Victorian-themed murder mystery dinner; Charles Bowdish train display; children’s shopping mart; Christmas Tree Lane at the Jefferson County Courthouse; art show; craft show; Tablescape Competition; choir concerts in the town square; a strolling ensemble; authentic living windows; extended business hours. and sidewalk sales (weather permitting), and more.

Friday, December 1

5:30 p.m. – Live Nativity – the start of the Victorian Christmas Celebration!
5:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. – Living Windows- Main Street Historic Brookville. See the town come to life in historic fashion! Visual displays of live interactions with sidewalk sales, extended hours, and special store sales.
12:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. – “Days of Grace” Craft & Bake Sales at the Grace Lutheran Church
5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. – Prime Rib Buffet at the Opera House Café. (Walk-ins welcome but may be subject to wait times. Call 814-849-8011 to make a reservation.)
5:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. – Allegheny Plateau Division National Model Railroad Association Train Display (old
Dollar General Building)
5:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. – Charles Bowdish Train Display at the Jefferson County History Center. (There is a small fee to enter or purchase your annual membership now to visit JCHC train display and other attractions free of charge.)
5:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. – “Jefferson County Postcards,” a new Arcadia Publication! (There will be a Promotional video on display in the gift shop where this book and other items are available for purchase. Proceeds benefit JCHC.)
5:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. – Pine wreath sale – town square. (Proceeds benefit BAHS Band.)
5:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. – Luminary sale (Proceeds benefit Brookville Civic Club.)
5:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. – Christmas Tree lane – Jefferson County Courthouse lobby (Free to the public.)
5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. – Ensemble performances in the town square by Brookville Area High School (Free to the public.)
7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. – Opera & Broadway Concert – Pastor Ben Austin & a classically trained Vocalist. (Free to the public. Donations to support Brookville Community Theater will be encouraged.)
5:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. – Toy & Food Drive hosted by Clarion Abate (New toys and nonperishable goods collected for children in need. Look for their trailer downtown.)
5:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. – “Art on a Line” – clothesline art featured by Jean & Wilma available for purchase at Fusion Atelier. (Proceeds benefit the Laurel Art Show.)
6:00 p.m to 8:00 p.m. – Art Gallery opening
8:00 p.m. – Ghosts, Myths & Legends Tour – Guided tour in historic Brookville featuring spooky tales (Tickets available at Hoak Insurance Services.)

Saturday, December 2

9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. – Children’s shopping mart at the Brookville Fire Hall hosted by the Women’s Auxiliary
9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.- Christmas Tree Lane – Jefferson County Courthouse (Free to the public.)
10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. – Toy & Food Drive Hosted by Clarion Abate (New toys and nonperishable goods collected for children in need. Look for their trailer downtown.)
9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. – Christmas and Craft Gift Bazaar at the EUM Church
10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. – Craft & Vendor Show On Main Street – Old Galbraith’s Furniture space. (Hosted by Historic Brookville Inc.)

7:00 p.m. – Saint Lucia Procession – an exotic, Swedish tradition honoring Saint Lucia, the bearer of light. A candlelit service will be held at the Grace Lutheran Church –End of celebration!
