Violet L. Fortunato

Violet L. Fortunato age 95 of Fermantown Road Brockway, PA; died on Monday October 11, 2021 at Penn Highlands DuBois.

Born on August 27, 1926 in Kittanning, PA; she was the daughter of the late Esther Lundblad.

She was married to Armando Fortunato and he preceded her in death on December 19, 1970.

Violet had various odd jobs over her life but was mostly a homemaker.

She was a member at St. Tobias Church where she was a past Rosary Society member.

Violet enjoyed taking trips to Florida where she loved going to the beach.

She also enjoyed day trips up to Salamanca to try her luck at the casino.

Most of all she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.

She is survived by 4 daughters: Lorraine Douglas of Brockport; Sandy (Gordon) Tomb of Cleveland, Georgia; Paula (Douglas) Delp of Brockway; Georgian Fortunato and her husband Robert Carter also of Brockport; a son William (Nancy) Fortunato of Bonita Beach, Florida; 2 sisters: Karen (George) Baka and Glenda Peterson both of Brockway.

She is also survived by 14 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren.

In addition to her mother and her husband she is also preceded in death by 5 sisters: Donna Lindholm, Marlene Andrekovich, Norma Parana, Betty Miller and an infant sister Pearl; 3 brothers: Thomas Miller, Carl Miller, Herbert Miller and a granddaughter Becky Moose.

Calling hours will be on Sunday, October 17 from 2 PM to 6 PM at the Carlson-Shugarts Funeral Home Inc.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, October 18 at 10 AM at St. Tobias Church in Brockway with Msgr. Charles Kaza presiding.

Burial will follow in St. Tobias Cemetery.
