In his second Major League rehab start, Ryan Vogelsong (Win, 1-0) recorded the win for the Curve after throwing six scoreless innings, allowing just two hits while walking two and striking out three.

Altoona (52-39) saw their six-game winning streak come to an end as Harrisburg (48-43) wins its first game post All-Star break.

The Curve scored the first run of the first game in the third inning with Stetson Allie’s eighth home run of the season against Senators starter Michael Brady (Loss, 2-3), and Eric Wood followed in the fifth with his team best twelfth home run to give the Curve a 2-0 lead.

An Edwin Espinal RBI double, a Barrett Barnes sacrifice fly and Allie’s second RBI of the game in the sixth inning gave the Curve a 5-0 lead.

Harrisburg scored the first two runs of the second game in the top of the fourth inning against Clay Holmes (Loss, 8-5) on RBI singles from Shawn Pleffner and Nick Rickles.

Altoona touched Harrisburg starter John Simms (Win, 6-4) for just two hits in his five scoreless innings of work as he struck out six Curve hitters.

A solo home run from Shawn Pleffner off Curve reliever Brett McKinney in the sixth inning gave the Senators a 3-0 lead.

Reese McGuire doubled with one out in the bottom of the seventh to set the table for Wood’s second home run of the day, a two-run shot to left-center field to bring the Curve within 3-2, but Wander Suero (Save, 2) forced a pair of flyouts to end the game.

Barnes extended his longest hitting streak of the season to eight games with his game one single in the fifth inning.

Southpaw Cody Dickson (7-3, 3.69) gets the start Saturday for Altoona, opposing Harrisburg righty Philips Valdez (2-2, 7.67) at 6 p.m. The SweetRight Brothers will be back for more fun, and there will be a post-game spectacular fireworks show.
