Water Outage Continues in Hawthorn; Fire Department to Provide Water to Residents

HAWTHORN BOROUGH, Pa. (EYT) – Hawthorn Borough VFD Assistant Fire Chief Curt Kiehl said residents and businesses in Hawthorn are still without water following a major water main break in the borough on Sunday.

Drinking water will be available at Hawthorn Area Volunteer Fire Department, located at 3891 Main Street, Monday from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Residents can fill their own containers and bottled water is available.

Kiehl said crews are working to fix the water main break and hope to have water service restored tonight.

Redbank Valley School District is closed on Monday, November 20, due to the outage. School officials say classes will be back in session on Tuesday. Drinking water will be available for all students.

Updates will be provided as they become available.
