The National Weather Service of Pittsburgh issued the following Urgent Winter Weather Message at 1:46 p.m. on Monday, January 30, 2017:

…WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM 1 AM TO 4 PM EST TUESDAY…

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN PITTSBURGH HAS ISSUED A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY FOR SNOW…WHICH IS IN EFFECT FROM 1 AM TO 4 PM EST TUESDAY.

* SNOW ACCUMULATIONS…4 TO 6 INCHES.

* TIMING…LIGHT SNOW WILL DEVELOP AFTER MIDNIGHT. THE HEAVIEST SNOW IS EXPECTED BETWEEN 4 AM AND 10 AM TUESDAY MORNING. SNOW WILL TAPER TO SNOW SHOWERS DURING THE AFTERNOON.

* IMPACTS…THE SNOW WILL CREATE SNOW COVERED ROADS AND HAZARDOUS DRIVING CONDITIONS.

* WINDS…SOUTH 10 TO 15 MPH WITH GUSTS UP TO 25 MPH.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…

A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY FOR SNOW MEANS THAT PERIODS OF SNOW WILL CAUSE PRIMARILY TRAVEL DIFFICULTIES. BE PREPARED FOR SNOW COVERED ROADS AND LIMITED VISIBILITIES…AND USE CAUTION WHILE DRIVING.
