WEATHER ALERT: NWS Warns of Possible Thunderstorms, Heavy Downpours, Damaging Wind Gusts

JEFFERSON CO., Pa. (EYT) – Severe thunderstorms, heavy downpours, and damaging wind gusts are possible for Jefferson County and surrounding areas.

The National Weather Service of Pittsburgh issued the following Weather Alert at 4:35 a.m. on Thursday, July 13, 2017:

This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for east central Ohio, northwest Pennsylvania, southwest Pennsylvania, west central Pennsylvania, western Pennsylvania, northern West Virginia, and northern panhandle of West Virginia.

Today and Tonight.

Slight risk for severe thunderstorms today and tonight. The main threat will be damaging wind gusts. Any storms will be capable of producing heavy downpours which could result in localized flooding.

Friday.

Showers and storms are expected again on Friday. Isolated activity could be strong to severe. Heavy rain will still be a threat.
