JEFFERSON CO., Pa. (EYT) – A Wind Advisory has been issued for Jefferson County and surrounding areas.

The National Weather Service of Pittsburgh has issued the following URGENT WEATHER MESSAGE at 4:37 a.m. on Tuesday, May 2, 2017:

…WIND ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM NOON TODAY TO 7 PM EDT THIS EVENING…

The National Weather Service in Pittsburgh has issued a Wind Advisory…which is in effect from noon today to 7 PM EDT this evening.

* WINDS…Southwest 15 to 20 mph with gusts up to 50 mph.

* IMPACTS…Strong winds may blow down limbs…trees…and power lines. Scattered power outages are expected.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…

A Wind Advisory means that wind speeds greater than 30 mph, or gusts in excess of 45 mph are expected. Winds this strong can make driving difficult, especially for high profile vehicles. Use extra caution.
