WEATHER ALERT: Winter Weather Advisory Issued for Jefferson County; Winds Gusts, Snow Squalls Predicted

JEFFERSON COUNTY, Pa. (EYT) – A Winter Weather Advisory has been issued for Jefferson County and surrounding areas. Wind gusts and snow squalls are anticipated.

The National Weather Service of Pittsburgh issued the following URGENT WINTER WEATHER MESSAGE AT 3:23 AM on Saturday, March 9, 2024:

Grove City, Tionesta, Hermitage, Brookville, Ellwood City, Ford City, Punxsutawney, Oil City, Franklin, Butler, Clarion, Kittanning, Indiana, New Castle, and Sharon

…WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM MIDNIGHT EST TONIGHT TO 2 AM EDT MONDAY…

* WHAT…Snow expected. Total snow accumulations between 2 and 3 inches with locally higher amounts. Winds gusting as high as 45 mph. Brief periods of snow squall conditions will be possible during the day Sunday, greatly reducing visibilities.

* WHERE…Portions of northwest, southwest, and western Pennsylvania.

* WHEN…From midnight EST tonight to 2 AM EDT Monday.

* IMPACTS…Plan on slippery road conditions.
