WEATHER ALERT: Winter Weather Advisory Remains in Effect; Freezing Rain, Sleet, Snow Expected

JEFFERSON CO., Pa. (EYT) – A Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect for Jefferson County and surrounding areas.

The National Weather Service of Pittsburgh issued the following Urgent Winter Weather Message at 3:38 a.m. on Wednesday, February 20, 2019:

…WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 7 AM THIS MORNING TO 1 AM EST THURSDAY…

* WHAT…Mixed precipitation expected. Total snow accumulations of 2 to 4 inches and ice accumulations of up to one tenth of an inch expected.

* WHERE…Forest, Jefferson PA and Indiana Counties.

* WHEN…From 7 AM this morning to 1 AM EST Thursday.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS…Plan on slippery road conditions. The hazardous conditions could impact the morning and evening commutes.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…

A Winter Weather Advisory means that periods of snow, sleet or freezing rain will cause travel difficulties. Use caution while driving.
