The National Weather Service of Pittsburgh issued the following Urgent Winter Weather Message at 2:55 a.m. on Tuesday, January 31, 2017:

* SNOW ACCUMULATIONS…3 TO 4 INCHES.

* TIMING…THE HEAVIEST SNOW IS EXPECTED BETWEEN 8 AM AND NOON.

* IMPACTS…SNOW COVERED ROADS AND HAZARDOUS DRIVING CONDITIONS.

* WINDS…SOUTH 5 TO 15 MPH WITH GUSTS UP TO 25 MPH.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…

A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY FOR SNOW MEANS THAT PERIODS OF SNOW WILL CAUSE PRIMARILY TRAVEL DIFFICULTIES. BE PREPARED FOR SNOW COVERED ROADS AND LIMITED VISIBILITIES…AND USE CAUTION WHILE DRIVING.
