William Duane “Gabby” Schuckers, 83, of Craig Street, Brookville, Pa., passed away on Saturday, March 8, 2014, at McKinley Health Center, Brookville, Pa.
Born on October 17, 1930, in Emerickville, Pa., he was the son Erdice Schuckers and Nettie Cable Schuckers.
On August 2, 1953, he married Vivian L. Phillips in Brookville, Pa. She survives.
William was in the US Navy and was a U.S. veteran.
He was retired from Consol Energy (formerly R&P Coal Co.).
He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Brookville, Pa. and the Pinecrest Country Club in Brookville.
In 1998 he was honored by the Old Timers Baseball Association for his service, and in 1986 – 1987 was the Laurel Award recipient for community service.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Liegh Ann Mumford (Randy) of Brookville, Pa.; a son, Michael Schuckers (Mary) of Brookville, Pa.; two grandchildren, Jill McLaughlin (Jeff) and Ryan Schuckers (Jessica); and a great grandchild, Gabby Anne McLaughlin.
He is also survived by a sister, Helen Ferraro of Brookville, Pa.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Paul and Harold “Lefty” Schuckers.
Visitation hours are on Monday, March 10, 2014, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at McKinney Funeral Home, 345 Main Street, Brookville, Pa.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, March 11, 2014, at McKinney Funeral Home, with Pastor James Fillhart officiating.
Interment will be at Brookville Cemetery in Brookville, Pa.
