William E. “Bill” Dawson, Jr.

William E. “Bill” Dawson, Jr., age 61, of Route 322 in Pine Creek, Twp., passed away in the comfortable surroundings of his home on Wednesday, November 9, 2016.

Bill was born in Clarion, PA, on September 11, 1955, to the late William E. and Iola (Campbell) Dawson. After his time spent in high school, Bill went directly into the military and he was very proud of the service he gave as a member of the United States Marine Corp. When his time in the armed services was over, he immediately began his family and picked up his lifelong trade as an auto mechanic. Although he specialized in diesel engines, he had the skill set to work on all types of motors both large and small.

Bill was an outdoorsman and he enjoyed rifle hunting and looked forward to fishing season. He liked canoeing out on the rivers and he spent a lot of time riding his quad. He was an excellent pool player and he liked bowling as well. Bill was a member of the Brookville Fraternal Order of Eagles, #983, the Brookville Fireman’s Club, and the Russell J. Hilliard VFW, Post 415, in New Bethlehem, PA; he enjoyed his way of life.

Bill is survived by 2 daughters; Tamara Stewart, Linda (George) Kresila; 2 sons; William E. (Melissa) Dawson III, Michael (Amy) Dawson; 2 brothers; Ronald Dawson, Howard “Dean” Dawson; 1 sister; Shirl Doverspike; 8 grandchildren; Michael, Dustin, Austin, Ashlynn, Zoe, Hailey, Keegan, Emilie; and 2 great-grandchildren; Brooklynne, Paisley.

In addition to his parents, Bill is preceded in death by his loving companion, Karen Kunselman; 1 brother; James Dawson; and 1 grandson; Brandon Stewart.

Family and friends will be received on Saturday, November 12, 2016, from 3 – 6pm, at the McKinney – d’Argy Funeral Home, ltd, 345 Main St., Brookville, PA, 15825.

A funeral service will immediately follow the visitation at the funeral home, beginning at 6:00pm, and officiated by the Rev. Don Henderson.
