William Lee “Bill” Hallowell

William Lee “Bill” Hallowell, 79, of Reynoldsville, passed away peacefully in the comfort of his home surrounded by his loving family on Tuesday, August 21, 2018.

Bill was born to the late Renrick and Ruby (Dieble) Hallowell on July 5, 1939, in Reynoldsville, PA. He graduated from Sandy High School and went on to Grove City College. On February 11, 1961, Bill married his wife of fifty-seven years, Honey Ann (Copelli) Hallowell at the Pleasant Valley United Methodist Church in Reynoldsville, PA. He continued to keep a strong relationship to the church and to God. He held various offices over the years at the church including; head of trustees, pastor-parish relations committee, and being a Sunday school teacher.

Bill enjoyed singing in the church choir and he had a voice that would easily stand out. Bill loved to sing and if he wasn’t singing you could find him humming. He enjoyed having motorcycles throughout his life and especially loved to ride his Harley Davidson. Bill loved to read books and was always studying the Bible which allowed him to keep a close relationship with God. He would grow a garden and then take his great-grandsons to pick tomatoes out of it. He enjoyed watching NASCAR races when they were on. He was a well-liked man who would help anyone who needed it.

Bill had a heart of gold which made it easy to love him. He was very involved with all his grandchildren and great-grandchildren’s lives with everything they did. He loved his church, but above all, he loved his family the most. Bill’s family was the most important thing in his life.
