Brown remains lodged in the Jefferson County Jail.

Her case is working its way through the court system.

According to a criminal complaint, on January 11, the Jefferson County District Attorney’s office contacted
agents of the Jefferson County Drug Task Force about the use and sales of controlled substances at the county jail.

Around 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, January 11, the drug task force agents met with Warden Elbel, who indicated that he learned through recorded phone calls that two known inmates were using LSD at the jail. Both gave written statements to jail staff admitting to using LSD while in jail, the complaint states.

Both inmates also indicated in their respective written statements that Brown had provided each of them with the controlled substance after she became incarcerated at the jail on January 5. The inmates were urine tested for controlled substances. The tests were sent out, but results were not yet known. Both inmates had been jailed since October 31, 2017.

The task force agents then met with the two inmates who agreed to speak with them after they were read their Miranda warnings.

One inmate said Brown kept asking them about using LSD. She said Brown then tossed over a pad that said, “You bitches sound bored, get on my level.” The first inmate said the pad contained four hits of acid. The inmate then said Brown offered more LSD in exchange for an envelope. After giving Brown an envelope, she gave both inmates two more doses, which were rainbow-colored. The inmate also stated that Brown said she had more LSD and to let her know if they wanted more.

The second inmate gave a similar statement to the task force agents. She said the LSD had a “V” on one side and a rainbow on the other. She also said that she saw Brown with some LSD in her shoe. The inmate told Brown that keeping it there would cause the LSD to absorb via her foot and to move it, the complaint indicates.

Both drug task force agents were provided with copies of the written statements by the inmates, and they were also given a copy of the note reading “You bitches sound bored! Get on my level! LOL. Please conduct yourselves in a  discreet way. Just say I love you when you figure out what I’m talking about,” according to the complaint.

Around 5:10 p.m. on Thursday, January 11, the agents served a warrant on the county jail and Brown. Following a search of Brown’s hair, no items were discovered. Brown was trembling at the time and said she was a diabetic, which was found not to be true. Agents then requested a video of the jail showing objects being passed from cell to cell as well as urine test results.

On Friday, January 12, both agents were contacted by county Assistant District Attorney Carlini who told them that jail staff had removed Brown’s hair weave. Underneath, they found several bags containing drugs – including one-half ounce of cocaine, one-half ounce of crystal methamphetamine, and 78 doses of LSD, as well as a glass pipe with burn marks, the complaint states.

When the agents reviewed video surveillance from the jail, they observed “brown toss an item out of her cell where both inmates recovered it. It is believed this was the time of the LSD delivery.”

Brown was initially jailed on charges of theft by unlawful taking and possession of access device fraud knowing counterfeit, altered dating from a December 26, 2017 incident that occurred in Washington Township, Jefferson County.

She faces a preliminary hearing at 3:30 p.m. on February 22 with Magisterial District Judge David B. Inzana presiding.
