Woman Seriously Injured in Suspected DUI Crash on Route 36

GASKILL TWP., Pa. (EYT) – Police say an area woman was seriously injured in a suspected DUI crash that occurred on State Route 36 earlier this month.

According to police, around 8:37 a.m. on October 5, a one-vehicle crash occurred on State Route 36 in Gaskill Township, Jefferson County.

Police say 58-year-old Susie A. Benitez-Daou, of Mahaffey, was operating a 2015 Mitsubishi Mirage, traveling on State Route 36 when she drove off the east side of the roadway and struck a utility pole.

According to police, Benitez-Daou was not wearing a seatbelt and suffered suspected serious injuries.

She was transported by Jefferson County EMS.

Big Run Fire Department also assisted at the scene.

Police say Benitez-Daou was found to be under the influence and related charges are pending.
