Woman Injured When Vehicle Slams into Tree in Winslow Township

WINSLOW TWP., Pa. (EYT) – Police say a Punxsutawney woman was injured when her vehicle struck a tree in Winslow Township late last week.

According to police, around 6:32 a.m. on Thursday, June 25, a one-vehicle crash occurred on US 322 just east of Yellow Brick Road in Winslow Township.

Police say 18-year-old Madalyn N. Watt, of Punxsutawney, was operating a 2009 Chevrolet Malibu, traveling west on US 322, when she veered left and crossed the opposing lane, then left the south side of the roadway. The vehicle then grazed a utility pole and continued traveling until it struck a tree and came to a final rest.

Watt was not wearing a seatbelt. She suffered suspected minor injuries and was transported to Penn Highlands DuBois by Reynoldsville Area Ambulance Service.

She was cited for a traffic violation.

The vehicle was towed from the scene by Jewell’s Towing at the owner’s request.

Reynoldsville Volunteer Fire Company also assisted at the scene.
