Woman Seriously Injured in Route 119 Crash; Flown to UPMC Altoona


HENDERSON TWP., Pa. (EYT) – A 37-year-old woman was flown from the scene of a crash that occurred early Saturday morning on State Route 119, in Henderson Township, Jefferson County.

Punxsutawney-based State Police say around 6:33 a.m. on Saturday, May 26, 37-year-old Heather J. Reed, of Weedville, was traveling northbound on Route 119, through a slight curve in the roadway and lost control of her 2005 Chevrolet Impala.

The car exited the northbound shoulder, hit a tree, and came to a final rest off the northbound shoulder facing west.

Reed suffered suspected serious injuries.

She was life-flighted to UPMC Altoona, and then she was flown to UPMC Presbyterian.

The vehicle was removed from the scene by Rebuck Southside Towing.

Big Run Volunteer Fire Department and Dusan Ambulance Service assisted at the scene.

The investigation shall remain open pending further investigation by PSP Punxsutawney.
