Four Injured in State Route 28 Collision

ROSE TWP., Pa. (EYT) – State Police have released details surrounding a Friday afternoon crash on State Route 28 that left four people injured.

Punxsutawney-based State Police say the accident happened around 1:30 p.m. on State Route 28 near Snyder Road in Rose Township, Jefferson County,

Eric M. Wood, 21, of Canton, OH, was attempting to turn onto State Route 28 from Snyder Road when failed to yield to an oncoming vehicle operated by Connie L. Neiswonger, 48, of Fairmount City.

State Police say the front left of Neiswonger’s 2012 Nissan Rogue collided with the front left of Wood’s 2005 Acura RL.

The impact caused Neiswonger’s vehicle to spin counterclockwise before coming to a final rest in the middle of the roadway.

Wood’s vehicle continued traveling northeast until it slammed into a guide rail.

Neiswonger and a passenger in her vehicle – Tyler J. Plyler, 23, of Fairmount City – were transported by Jefferson County EMS to a nearby hospital for treatment of moderate injuries.

A juvenile passenger in Neiswonger’s vehicle suffered minor injuries and was also transported to the hospital.

Wood was treated at the scene for minor injuries.

He was charged at District Judge Gregory M. Bazylak’s office for a lane violation and failure to provide proof of financial responsibility.

Pine Creek Township Fire Department, Jefferson County EMS, and McPherson’s Towing assisted at the scene.
