Worshippers Gather for 72nd Annual Easter Sunrise Service at Cook Forest

COOKSBURG, Pa. – This year’s Cook Forest Easter Sunrise Service was once again a success.

The annual event was held outside in the Ridge Camp amphitheater in Cook Forest State Park on Sunday, March 31. It began at 7:00 a.m. with the flag-raising by BSA Troop 51 followed by At Calvary sung by the congregation.

The worship team then performed the songs Living Hope and Amazing Grace (My Chains Are Gone).

Reverend Richard Helsel presented the invocation and scripture, before Reverend Samuel Wilson gave the message: Raised to Life in Christ.

After Reverend Wilson’s message, the worship team sang The Wonderful Cross and Wonderful, Merciful Savior.

The congregation joined in on the singing with the hymn Old Rugged Cross.

The service concluded around 8:00 a.m. with the Benediction given by Reverend Richard Helsel and the lowering of the flag by BSA Troop 51.
