WRC Senior Services Healthy Aging Fair Set for June 21

LaurelbrookBROOKVILLE, Pa. – WRC Senior Services, in partnership with KOOL 103.3 FM and Penn Highlands Healthcare, will hold its 11th annual Healthy Aging Fair on Tuesday, June 21, at Laurelbrooke Landing in Brookville, across from Brookville Hospital.

The event is from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.

Admission is free and open to the public. There will be a chance to win several door prizes, including a $300.00 Walmart gift card, and free giveaways from vendors throughout the event.

The first 200 attendees will receive a WRC grocery tote bag with additional WRC giveaways inside.

A variety of free health screenings will be offered, including bone density, lung function, pulse ox, blood pressure, cardiovascular disease, oral cancer, balance, blood glucose, memory, vision, and hearing.

WRC Senior Services will also be offering multiphasic blood screening through Penn Highlands Healthcare.

The screening costs $40.00 and tests for heart disease, liver disease, kidney disease, anemia, diabetes and more. It also includes a complete cholesterol panel.

A 12 hour fast is recommended prior to the testing. The test results will be sent to the participant and their physician.

In addition to the multi-phasic blood testing, participants can also get a Hemoglobin A1C test for $15 and a thyroid function test for $10.00.

In addition to health screenings, the fair also features over 40 vendors with information about local aging services, nutrition, eye care, dental care, women’s health, pet care, financial planning, Medicare prescription plans, health insurance, emergency preparedness, hearing loss, wound healing, home medical equipment, prescriptions, preventative healthcare, cancer, spiritual care, and other topics of interest for older adults.

KOOL 103.3 FM will be doing a live broadcast from the event.
