BROOKVILLE, Pa. (EYT) – A Summerville man, best known as the co-founder of Brookville Behavioral Health, was found guilty on 13 child rape charges in Jefferson County court yesterday.
According to court documents, on Wednesday, January 30, the jurors found 57-year-old Glenn Edward Tetro, of Summerville, GUILTY on following charges:
– Rape Person Less Than 13 Years of Age, Felony 1 (three counts)
– Involuntary Deviate Sexual Intercourse – Person Less Than 13 Yrs Age, Felony 1 (three counts)
– Statutory Sexual Assault, Felony 2 (three counts)
– Indecent Assault Person Less Than 13 Years of Age, Misdemeanor 1 Guilty (four counts)
The jurors found Tetro NOT GUILTY on the following charges:
– Rape Person Less Than 13 Years of Age, Felony 1 (two counts)
– Involuntary Deviate Sexual Intercourse – Person Less Than 13 Yrs Age, Felony 1 (two counts)
– Statutory Sexual Assault, Felony 2 (two counts)
– Indecent Assault Person Less Than 13 Years of Age, Not Guilty (28 counts)
He originally faced 215 counts of sexual assault-related charges; however, 168 charges were withdrawn on January 29, 2019.
Court documents indicate Tetro was lodged in the Jefferson County Jail on January 30.
Previously, he was free on a $300,000.00 surety bond that was posted by a professional bondsman.
A date for sentencing has not been scheduled.
Case details:
According to a criminal complaint filed by Punxsutawney-based State Police Trooper Weaver, the investigation began after the female victim reported to police that she was sexually abused by Tetro on several occasions between September 1994 and March 1998 at a residence in Summerville.
According to the criminal complaint, Tetro was working at a local youth facility as a counselor at the time of the alleged sexual assaults.
Most of the alleged abuse occurred within the Summerville residence; however, the victim said that two of the incidents occurred inside a Michigan home.
On February 20, 2018, around 11:30 a.m., the victim contacted Tetro and carried on a 19-minute phone conversation with him. During the conversation, Tetro allegedly indicated that he was sorry for what he had done, according to the criminal complaint.
Tetro was taken into custody on Thursday, March 1, 2018, and arraigned at 5:10 p.m. before District Judge Gregory M. Bazylak in Brookville.
