Two-Vehicle Collision on Route 119; One Injured

BRADY TWP., Pa. (EYT) – DuBois-based State Police say around 5:05 p.m. on April 30, a two-vehicle accident occurred on State Route 119, Sykes Street Extension, east of Buffalo-Pittsburgh Highway, in Brady Township, Clearfield County. According to police, a 1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee, driven by 23-year-old Joseph G. Pratt, of Clearfield, and a 1999 Dodge Ram 2500, driven by a 16-year-old Punxsutawney male, were both traveling south of State Route 119. The Dodge Ram was in front of the Jeep Cherokee in the right lane. The Dodge Ram slowed down due to slower moving traffic in front of it. Pratt failed to observe the Dodge Ram slowing down and the passenger's side front of his Jeep struck the driver's side rear bumper of the Dodge, police say. Pratt pulled his Jeep onto the east berm of Route 119, and the teen pulled his vehicle onto the west berm of Route 119, according to police. Pratt was using a seat belt and was not injured. A passenger in Pratt's vehicle - 29-year-old Amber R. Swab, of DuBois - was not using a seat belt and suffered suspected minor injuries. Three other passengers in Pratt's vehicle - 19-year-old Leo T. Walk, of Dubois; 19-year-old Nathan D. Horr, of DuBois; and 24-year-old Floyd F. St. Clair, of Altoona - were using seat belts and were not injured. The teen driver of the Dodge and a 16-year-old Punxsutawney male passenger were using seat belts and were not injured. Sykesville Police Department assisted at the scene.
